Byrd Spring Road to be temporarily reduced to one lane
HUNTSVILLE — The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that Byrd Spring Road will be reduced to one lane just east of South Memorial Parkway (U.S. 231/Alabama 53) beginning about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, for installation of a water line as part of the South Memorial Parkway improvements project.
Flaggers will direct traffic through the area. Expect delays. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes if possible.
Also Saturday, the access ramp from Memorial Parkway southbound to Martin Road westbound will be closed beginning about 6:30 a.m. for sewer line installation. The ramp closure is not expected to impact traffic, as it will take place during regular weekend closure hours for Redstone Arsenal Gate 1.
Work at both sites is anticipated to be complete, with lanes reopened, later the same day.
